Going Girl Scout Crazy!

Elizabeth and Sarah sisters in life and scouting!
I started girl scouting again! What an ordeal it has turned out to be.  I have had an innumerable amount of problems since it's start.  I have had co-leader/ cookie mom problems, and even though she is gone the problems are still remaining.  The stress it has caused has been too much.  I have been having health issues primarily associated with this.  I can't believe there are people in the world who would do the things that have been done.  It is criminal and sad. Now she is spending all of her time bad mouthing girl scouting, and me.  While I try my hardest to not sink to her level and tell the world of her horrible activities and what she was doing.  It is harder each day to rise above.  I hope now that cookies are done things will get better.  I have a large troop of 27 girls! They are the only reason I am still doing this.  They are bright and amazing.  I enjoy all of my time with them.

I now have another co-leader who has also taken on the role of cookie mom and she is working very hard to try to deal with the incredible mess that was made by her predecessor.  In the past as a girl scout leader I never encountered such problems and I am slightly dishearten.  I sure hope things get better.....
Jim came and spoke to the girl scouts about our country and military!
Here is a few pictures of my girls in girl scouting...

Conor Turn's 3!

Conor's birthday comes right on Dance Recital Friday! So we celebrated a week early.  Tomorrow is his official 3 year old birthday!  May 21, 2010! I can't believe what a big boy he is getting to be.  Time seems to be flying by.  This may have something to do with the fact that he is my official last baby.  This makes me sad... and relieved at the same time.  That is a strange combination of feelings! LOL!!
He has also moved from the terrible (although terrible is still how we describe some of his actions) two's and moved onto the trying 3's!  He knows how to say his ABC's in English and French. He knows how to count to 30 and he knows quite a lot of Spanish words.  He is growing and learning everyday!  We have been finding out how advanced he is physically as well.  So blessed are we. =) Here are a handful of pictures from the party.

Dancing>>>>>>>Recital Time is near!!

Baptism Better late than never

We finally baptized our daughter Sarah and son Conor.  We were too late to baptize Sean.  He has reached the age of reason.  He is enrolled in RCIA religious education classes.  He has 1 more year to go until he is baptized, 1st reconciliation, 1st Holy Communion, and Confirmation.  Sarah would reach the age in September.

We had my brother Bill and sister Michelle to be the God Parent's. here are some of our pictures.

Struggles of Homeschool

I have been having some problems with the kids recently.  The problem is that since the kids have been in a regular school setting it is hard to keep them motivated in their basic education and seat work.  All the extra and exploritative stuff seems to go over famously but the regular work seems to be a thorn in my side.  The kids won't buckle down or focus.  Discipline is different and slightly more difficult.  Having been in a traditional class room, I may have more challenges adjusting to this difference.

Honestly, sometimes I think that this is not something I really want to do.  It is hard and discouraging.  Then something happens and we have a good day.. and the enthusiasm is up...and their is a sense of renewal.  I think maybe I can do this.  My mentor reminds me that it take 3 years to become comfortable with the homeschooling process.   I feel embarrassed to admit that I feel a lot like maybe I am not doing what is best for my children. I know the schools are geared up to make you think you can't do it all on your own.  I only hope that in the end if I continue soon I will see that I am meant to do this and that it is working!
Frustration is my first, middle, and sometimes Last name! UGH!

Riley's Farm Field Trip (Revolutionary War Times)

Our homeschooling group CHEBA arranged for a wonderful field trip to Riley's Farm. The kids studied about the Revolutionary War and the cultural times in preparation for the trip. The kids were so excited to fight the "RED COATS"! They had an amazing time! Here are a few pictures of what happened.

Etee comes for a summer visit!

My sister Michelle got to come for a visit this summer! We are so excited to see her! She is so much fun! The kids bounce off the walls for days in anticipation of her arrival! Is it any wonder the day after she got here the kids fell asleep while watching one of their favorite Disney shows? So funny and cute! Her first night here we played on the patio at Grandma's house! We had a fun CONGA line... {Conor really got into the Conga line! Hangin on for dear life!} Played on the swings and generally had a wonderful time with her! We had a great dinner and some Yummy mousse cake!

Conor Took pictures of the WHOLE thing! LOL.. (mostly they looked like his eye ;-))

Spring Sing for Kindergarten 2009

Every Year the kindergarten kids put on a concert for friends and family... They call this their SPRING SING! They Practice for this concert all year long. With more intensified practice the month before the performance! This years show was amazing just as it was the year before when Sean was in kindergarten! Sarah shined like the little star she is! Sarah was an announcer and did a wonderful job of announcing the 6 little ducks song! WAY TO GO SARAH!!

Schools OUT for the SUMMER!!

The last day of school was so much fun! I felt a little like a boomerang running from one class to another. Sean's Class had a fun in the water day! There was a water slide and several pools.. there were a couple of sprinklers, and push water "guns" , there were relays and hula hoops! BOY did they all have a great time! Hot dogs were for lunch and fruit punch! They even got to watch some movies! FUN way to end their 1st grade year!

Sarah's class helped clean cubbies, and chairs at the water tables! This is particularly fun for kindergarten age kids! shhhh they don't know it is work! Then we had a pizza party and icy pops for a treat afterward! It was a fun last day of Kindergarten! Sarah even had the honor of being Student of the Day! She was also Student of the day the 1st time.. and several times through out the year!

The What the heck smell is coming from the diaper contest
The pick up a gazillion cotton balls on the floor with a huge spoon while blind folded
